Role overview

Remote Recruitment is hiring an IT Helpdesk Agent to support the staff of a UK-based employer as part of a fully remote team. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, helping people get back to work quickly and calmly. This is a 100% remote role for South African talent, working UK business hours (09:00–17:00 UK time / 11:00–19:00 SAST).

Key responsibilities

  • Respond to first-line IT support requests by chat, email and phone
  • Troubleshoot common hardware, software and account issues
  • Log tickets and track them through to resolution
  • Guide users through fixes in clear, plain language
  • Escalate complex problems to senior engineers

What you'll need

  • Experience with IT support or helpdesk work
  • Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365 and ticketing tools
  • Patience and clear communication with non-technical users
  • Good written and spoken English
  • A quiet home workspace with reliable internet
