Senior QA Lead - (2-3) Month Engagement

Location: Iraq.
Years of Experience: 4+ years.
Project Duration: 2-3 months.
Working Arrangement: on-site.
Language Requirements: Fluency in Arabic & English (written and spoken).
Starting Date: as soon as possible.

We are seeking a Senior QA Lead to oversee quality assurance activities, testing strategy, and release quality management across software development initiatives. The role will be responsible for leading QA teams, establishing testing frameworks, improving test automation practices, and ensuring that software releases meet quality standards before deployment to production environments.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in software development and quality assurance, including at least 2 years in QA-focused roles.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience leading QA activities across web and mobile application projects.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Functional Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • Smoke Testing
  • Sanity Testing
  • API Testing
  • Integration Testing
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Security Testing
• Experience creating test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Experience managing defects and bug tracking processes.
• Experience with Jira or similar test and project management tools.
• Experience reviewing automation scripts.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools for test case generation, log analysis, test coverage review, or QA documentation improvement.
• Experience with API Testing and Integration Testing.
• Good understanding of basic Security Testing principles.
• Experience leading and managing QA teams.
• Ability to design and implement a comprehensive Test Strategy.
• Understanding of database fundamentals and the ability to read and validate data to verify test results.
• Ability to prioritize and manage defects based on Severity and Priority.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on government, enterprise, or large-scale institutional systems.
• Experience with .NET-based applications and environments.
• Experience designing and establishing QA processes from the ground up.
• Experience performing Performance Testing.

Other Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• High attention to detail and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate QA team activities across manual and automation testing streams.
• Develop and maintain test strategies, test plans, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Review business and technical requirements and translate them into test scenarios and test cases.
• Oversee execution of functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, API, and UAT testing activities.
• Monitor defects, ensure proper bug documentation, and support timely resolution.
• Collaborate with Backend, Frontend, DevOps, and business teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
• Establish and improve automation testing practices and quality processes.
• Define QA KPIs and monitor team performance against established targets.
• Prepare and communicate quality metrics, testing results, and release readiness reports.
• Ensure quality standards are met before production deployment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
