Role summary

This role oversees talent acquisition, people operations, performance management, learning and development, employee experience, and culture initiatives. As one of the early business leaders, this role helps design the systems, processes, and practices that attract exceptional talent, support team growth, and foster a high-performance culture.

The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with a builder mindset, balancing business needs with employee experience in a fast-moving startup environment. This role will play a critical part in shaping how Matchii hires, develops, and retains talent while ensuring the company remains aligned around its mission, values, and long-term vision.

What you'll own

  • Own and scale Matchii's people operations across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, documentation, and HR administration.

  • Lead talent acquisition efforts, including employer branding, sourcing, interviewing, candidate experience, and hiring operations.

  • Design and continuously improve hiring processes, onboarding programs, and people workflows to support a growing and distributed team.

  • Manage employee records, HR systems, payroll coordination, benefits administration, and compliance requirements across markets.

  • Partner with hiring managers to support workforce planning, recruitment strategy, and organizational growth.

  • Build and maintain people policies, employee handbooks, and internal processes that balance compliance, efficiency, and employee experience.

  • Support performance management, employee development, feedback cycles, and team engagement initiatives.

  • Leverage AI tools and automation to improve recruiting, people operations, documentation, and internal workflows.

  • Help foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning as the company scales.

  • Build the foundations of Matchii's People & Culture function, ensuring the organization can attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.

Who we're looking for

  • 6+ years of experience in People Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, or People & Culture roles.

  • Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruiting and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.

  • Familiarity with international employment practices, payroll coordination, HR operations, and compliance requirements.

  • Strong ability to build and improve people processes, systems, and policies in fast-growing environments.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust across teams and cultures.

  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in ambiguity.

  • AI-native mindset with hands-on experience using AI tools to improve recruiting, people operations, and productivity.

  • Passionate about building exceptional teams, strong culture, and scalable organizations.
