Job Description
The Cold-room Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and efficiency of cold-room refrigeration systems within the company's facilities. This role aims to maintain optimal temperature conditions, prevent system breakdowns, and contribute to a comfortable and safe environment for business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- R&A System Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of coldroom refrigeration systems.
- Ensure proper refrigerant levels, clean coils, and lubricate moving parts as necessary.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot coldroom system malfunctions, identifying causes of issues.
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, fans, motors, and sensors.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for coldroom systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Conduct regular servicing, filter replacements, and part inspections.
- Energy Efficiency:
- Monitor energy consumption patterns of coldroom systems and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Implement energy-efficient practices to reduce operational costs.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards, regulations, and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that coldroom systems meet safety and environmental requirements.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive tasks.
- Generate detailed reports outlining coldroom system conditions, completed tasks, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in coldroom maintenance or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of coldroom systems, refrigerant handling, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
