The Site Operations Centre are seeking proactive and compassionate Patient Transfer Assistants to support the safe, efficient and timely transfer of patients within the hospital. In this essential role, you’ll provide support and collaborate with clinical and operational teams across the Trust to deliver a high quality service to our patients at all times.  

You’ll be responsible for daily tasks such as the transfer of patients and equipment between departments, stocking of linen trolleys and supplies, ensuring cleanliness of wheelchairs and beds, and performing urgent runs to the labs or for diagnostic imaging. You will also play an important role in maintaining bed/trolley stock, ensuring they are clean, available, and ready for use, while fostering a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, adhere to infection control policies, and maintain patient safety at all times. You will also be required to wear a headset for prompt communication and participate in Basic Life Support training.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Working with people within a caring setting.
  • Experience of working within a high visibility customer facing environment.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an NHS Trust/health care environment.
  • To be articulate in expressing ideas.
  • Previous experience in a front facing role.
  • NVQ II training or equivalent experience.

Additional Information

The position requires working as part of a team on a rotational shift schedule, working 07:00-19:30 and 19:00-07:30, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
