Role Summary

The Data Steward / Data Champion is responsible for end-to-end coordination and governance of material master data creation and maintenance across North America and LATAM for Flora Food Group.

This role supports key manufacturing locations including Hugoton (US), New Century (US), Brantford (Canada), and Tultitlan (Mexico), as well as distribution center (DC) extensions.

The role acts as a central coordination point across R&D, Marketing, Sales, Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality, ensuring all required data is collected, validated, and processed through Maextro / Prospecta MDO workflows.

In addition to operational responsibilities, the role will build strong domain knowledge in manufacturing and procurement processes, with particular focus on the Dairy production environment in Hugoton (US) – milk and milk products, becoming a key reference point for data requirements and process understanding in that area.

Key Responsibilities

Material Master Data Coordination

  • Coordinate creation of new product master data across assigned plants (US, Canada, Mexico).
  • Manage extension of material master data to distribution centers (DCs), 3PMs / Repackers.
  • Coordinate master data activities for third-party manufacturer (3PM) products within the region.
  • Act as a regional point of contact for material creation requests.

Cross-Functional Data Collection & Validation

  • Collaborate with:
    • R&D
    • Marketing
    • Sales
    • Planning
    • Supply Chain
    • Quality
  • Gather, consolidate, and validate all required information for product setup.
  • Ensure completeness, consistency, and readiness of data prior to submission.

MDM Tool Execution (Maextro / Prospecta MDO)

  • Create and manage requests for new material codes in Maextro / Prospecta MDO.
  • Monitor workflows, approvals, and status updates.
  • Ensure requests are completed in line with defined SLAs.
  • Coordinate resolution of data gaps, errors, or rejections.

Extended Master Data & Manufacturing Setup Oversight

  • Oversee and coordinate creation of:
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • Routings
    • Production Versions
    • Control Cycles
  • Ensure alignment between material master data and manufacturing master data.
  • Coordinate with plant teams to support production readiness.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of master data.
  • Apply established data standards, naming conventions, and governance rules.
  • Support identification and resolution of data quality issues.
  • Contribute to data quality monitoring and audit activities.

Tracking, Reporting & SLA Management

  • Maintain trackers for:
    • New product setup requests
    • Progress of master data creation
    • SLA performance
  • Prepare and share regular status reports with management.
  • Highlight risks, bottlenecks, and delays impacting timelines.

Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate communication between business functions, plants, and master data teams.
  • Ensure alignment and transparency across stakeholders.
  • Proactively escalate issues and risks when required.

Requirements

Experience / Competencies

  • Interest in data management, systems, and supply chain processes.
  • Exposure to SAP or master data concepts is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and develop expertise in manufacturing and supply chain processes, including becoming a subject matter resource for the Dairy process in Hugoton (US).

Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Supply Chain, Business, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work across NA & LATAM time zones.
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is an advantage).
  • Structured and proactive approach to work.
  • Willingness to continuously learn new systems, tools, and business processes.
