Job Description
We are seeking an Upstream Bioprocessing Technician to support mammalian cell culture operations and small-scale bioprocess development activities. This role offers hands-on exposure to bioreactor systems, upstream workflows, and laboratory operations supporting biotherapeutic development.
The technician will work closely with scientists to prepare equipment, maintain lab readiness, and assist in upstream experimental execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support upstream bioprocessing activities, including preparation and maintenance of mammalian cell culture systems
- Assist with 2L bioreactor setup, assembly, and sterilization for process development studies
- Perform autoclaving of glassware and reactor components prior to cell culture operations
- Maintain cleanroom/laboratory readiness, including workspace organization and equipment upkeep
- Manage lab inventory, reagents, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Coordinate with internal stocking teams to maintain appropriate supply levels
- Assist scientists with experimental setup and execution
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of lab activities
- Support general lab operations and continuous workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with 2+ years of lab experience, or Bachelor’s degree (no experience required)
- Prior experience in a laboratory or bioprocess environment preferred
- Exposure to mammalian cell culture or aseptic technique is a plus
- Familiarity with bioreactors (2L scale), BGA, Nova Flex, or similar instrumentation preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow established protocols in a regulated environment
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

The position is on-site, full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be flexible to adapt to schedule changes that may require shift changes and/or weekend work, and overtime may be required as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Andover, MA, are encouraged to apply.
