Analytical Scientist (Downstream Process)

Job Description
- Perform lab-scale downstream processing of vaccine products and process intermediates
- Perform assays on vaccine products, process intermediates, and related experimental samples using biochemical/analytical tests
- Prepare solutions/reagents
- Set-up process equipment for lab-scale experiments
- Maintain records and experimental results following good manufacturing practices (GMP)
Role will be working with BSL2 biological agents, such as live viruses
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Completed bachelors degree in a scientific concentration
Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience with SDS-PAGE, Western blot, Simple Western, HPLC / UPLC, SEC, cIEF, flow cytometry, DLS / SLS (light scattering methods), plate reader fluorescence / luminescence, A260/280, and/or SoloVPE
- Strong organizational skills and data management (e.g., electronic laboratory notebook compliance, Empower or similar chromatogram integration software)
- Aseptic sample handling skills and experience (working in a Biosafety Cabinet)
- Willing and able to work safely with BSL2 biological agents, such as live viruses
- Ability to work in a dynamic team-centered environment, coordinating work with team leads and colleagues with strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with small scale bioprocess unit operations (e.g., depth filtration, preparatory chromatography / FPLC, tangential flow filtration, bioburden reduction / sterile filtration)
Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, generally 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., but may vary to meet the assay needs; overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
