Research Engineer - Large Language Models for Multi-agent Systems (f/m/div.)
Posted about 2 hours ago
Job Description
As an AI research engineer at Bosch, you will exploit and advance the novel capabilities of cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs) towards building multi-agent AI systems that solve and optimize complex engineering problems for software, hardware, and mechatronic systems. You will work towards building robust, safe, efficient, and scalable solutions for a diverse array of Bosch applications.
- Reimagine AI-based engineering: You collaborate closely with domain experts from international corporate research departments and business units to develop novel agent-based approaches towards engineering, addressing Bosch's extensive product and service portfolio.
- Code Quality and Efficiency: As part of your tasks, you write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that supports both research initiatives and the transfer of technology to practical applications.
Additionally, you will develop best-practices and share them with the team. - Fuel Multi-agent Systems with Bosch Data and Tools: You will focus on working with Bosch's proprietary data to fine-tune and adapt generic language models, and use them as basis for multi-agent systems that interact with state-of-the-art design, simulation and optimization tools. This includes understanding the data and tools with domain experts, as well as designing and implementing robust data ingestion pipelines for model training and inference.
- Entrepreneurial Ideation: Last but not least, you leverage your entrepreneurial mindset to evaluate, develop, and pitch new ideas that drive innovation within the organization.
Qualifications
- Education:
- excellent Master in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Computational Linguistics, or related fields
- PhD in Machine Learning, AI or Computational Linguistics
- strong publication record on large language models, generative AI and agentic AI in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL, EMNLP, ICML, CVPR, etc.) is a plus
- Experience and Knowledge:
- LLMs and Agentic AI:
- deep knowledge and experience with state-of-the-art LLMs, and their improvement via fine-tuning or advanced RAG mechanisms.
- experience with agentic AI and building agentic workflows, in particular multi-agent systems (e.g. LangChain, AutoGen, …)
- broad experience with modern machine learning methods and tools
- AI-based Engineering:
- strong interest in applying AI to systems engineering tasks such as design-space exploration, requirement analysis, architecture optimization, verification support, or engineering workflow automation
- interest in combining formal engineering processes with adaptive AI methods
- Industrial experience, AI Infrastructure & Experimentation:
- strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX or others) in industrial real-world applications
- familiarity with scalable experimentation, distributed training, and evaluation pipelines
- experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, and collaborative software development practices
- ability to build reproducible research infrastructure for training, benchmarking, and analyzing agentic AI systems
- experience with cloud platforms (e.g., MS Azure, GCP) for deploying and scaling AI/ML models is a plus
- LLMs and Agentic AI:
- Personality and Working Practice: you possess entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to translate advanced research into practical innovation; you are a strong team player, highly self-motivated with conceptual strength and creativity, and drive to bring latest research solutions into products and service
