Hostess - Fairmont Gold

Job Description

Fairmont Hotels is seeking a professional and gracious Hostess to join our Fairmont Gold team in Cairo, Egypt. As a Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their exceptional experience at our luxury property. This role requires a warm, welcoming demeanor combined with impeccable organizational skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in a fast-paced, upscale hospitality environment.

• Greet guests with genuine warmth and professionalism upon arrival, creating a positive first impression
• Manage reservation systems and maintain accurate guest records and seating arrangements
• Coordinate with front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure seamless guest flow and optimal dining experiences
• Seat guests promptly while considering special requests, accessibility needs, and dining preferences
• Provide guests with menus, answer inquiries about dining options, and communicate wait times clearly and courteously
• Handle guest concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary
• Maintain the host stand area in an organized and professional manner
• Assist with special events, functions, and VIP guest services as required
• Monitor restaurant capacity and manage waitlists efficiently during peak service periods
• Communicate effectively with team members to support overall operational excellence
• Uphold Fairmont Gold service standards and brand values in all guest interactions

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Hostess or in a similar front-of-house role in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage guests from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to multitask in a busy environment
• Proficiency with reservation and point-of-sale systems
• Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury hospitality standards
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and solution-focused under pressure
• Multilingual capabilities (preferred, particularly Arabic and English)
• Knowledge of hospitality protocols and fine dining service standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and guest-centric mindset
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity to international guests
