Sika is expanding rapidly, and our data requirements are growing just as fast. To meet these needs, we are shaping a global strategy for how Sika manages and leverages analytical data, and we are building a state-of-the-art cloud-based data analytics platform.
Join our Central Data & Analytics Team as a Data Engineer - HR Data & Analytics in Zürich, where you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative solutions for data engineering and analytics. In this position, you will directly influence the architecture and execution of our new global data analytics approach, helping to set the standard for how Sika utilizes data to drive business value. Collaborate closely with HR, People Analytics, and HRIS teams to translate HR metrics and use cases into data models and reusable data products.
Your Impact During the First 6 Months
Build the Foundations
- Develop a deep understanding of Sika's data architecture, HR technology landscape, and Data Mesh strategy.
- Build strong partnerships with HR, HRIS, People Analytics, and Data & Analytics teams.
- Assess existing HR data assets and identify opportunities for improvement, scalability, and automation.
Design & Deliver
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from systems such as SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Rise Up, and other enterprise applications.
- Build reusable data models and data products that support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, security, and governance standards to ensure trusted and compliant HR data.
Scale & Optimize
- Deliver high-quality data products for workforce analytics, talent acquisition, learning, engagement, and future AI initiatives.
- Optimize pipelines and data models for performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to the evolution of Sika's global data platform, engineering standards, and analytics capabilities
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant Data Engineering, Cloud, or Analytics certifications are highly valued.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience supporting HR transformation, People Analytics, HRIS, or workforce-related data initiatives is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including Data Mesh, Data Products, and Domain-Oriented Data Ownership.
- Experience designing analytical data models, dimensional models, and star schemas for enterprise reporting environments.
- Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade data pipelines and data platforms in cloud environments.
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, including:
- Azure Databricks
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Storage
- Azure Key Vault
- Azure SQL and related services
- Advanced proficiency in:
- SQL
- Python
- PySpark
- dbt
- Experience with source control and collaborative development using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
- Experience supporting Power BI datasets and enterprise reporting environments.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, and security frameworks.
