About the role:

Reporting to the Lead, Health and Safety, the Senior Coordinator, Safety is responsible for the administration and coordination of EVR’s safety programs. This position will be responsible for supporting the regional contractor management and health & safety programs, focused on ensuring Health and Safety of employees and contractors.

To be successful, we are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong technical Health & Safety knowledge and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will the ability to multitask, remain organized, and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced, team environment; someone with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, who also possesses a passion for continuous improvement. This role requires a high level of integrity and an ability to know your audience while working effectively with stakeholders on safety initiatives and programs, thus presentation, communication and interpersonal skills are vital.

  • ### In this role you will:
  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Engage with employees and contractors to advise, mentor, and lead the workforce to ensure accurate high potential risk controls are implemented and evaluated for effectiveness, and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements are fulfilled
  • Conduct reviews of contractor Health & Safety and training programs to ensure alignment with EVR requirements
  • Assist Contract Managers and Supervisors in preparing detailed Environmental Health and Safety Community work plans (EHSC) prior to contractor work
  • Participate in and facilitate field compliance verifications, monitor and communicate company and address concerns to appropriate departments/operations management
  • Coordinate Health & Safety and Contractor Management systems
  • Support incident reporting and investigations as required
  • Develop, coordinate, and conduct necessary safety training, risk assessments, inspections, and effectiveness reviews
  • ### Requirements:
  • High school Diploma
  • Degree in Health & Safety, a CRSP/NCSO/CSP or equivalent designation, or in process of attaining is an asset
  • Health and Safety program management, development, and execution experience is required
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Confident and able to engage with contractors and workers in a professional and constructive manner
  • Knowledgeable in behavior-based safety and training programs
  • Ability to influence organizational behavior within an industrial setting
  • Strong digital literacy in Microsoft Office Suite®
  • Minimum three years as a health and safety professional, industrial experience is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent 
  • Salary range: 90,000 CAD / year  


    The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
