Senior Software Engineer (w/m/d)

Job Description
We're building an application that helps investors make better decisions — combining real-time market data, news ingestion, and GenAI-driven analysis into a product used daily by investors. You'll work across a Python (FastAPI) backend and an Angular frontend, owning features end-to-end from prototype to production.
We deploy on AWS and care deeply about structured logging, system health, and keeping things simple. You'll make real architectural decisions — choosing when an LLM is the right tool and when a well-tuned ML model or a simple heuristic is better. You'll help shape how we evaluate prompt quality, manage data pipelines for financial signals and news, and ensure the platform stays fast and reliable as it grows. If you want ownership, fast iteration cycles, and your work in the hands of users within days—not months—we’d love to talk.
Responsibilities
- Drive practical R&D initiatives in GenAI, focusing on real-world use cases and measurable impact.
- Build and ship full-stack features across FastAPI, Angular, and AWS, owning the process from commit to production.
- Lead technical decisions, drive architecture discussions, and guide other engineers through code reviews and system design.
Qualifications
- Proactive in leveraging GenAI tools to improve development workflows with real impact (not the LinkedIn hype).
- Strong interest in finance, markets, or investing (e.g. equities, ETFs), with willingness to build domain expertise.
- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with 5+ years of experience shipping production software.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (ideally AWS).
- Strong communication skills, able to clearly explain concepts/decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A strong sense of ownership, demonstrating initiative, independence, and the ability to carry work from problem to solution.
Nice to Have
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with the Angular frontend framework.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
