Role Overview
Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining Maryland Hillel as our Business Manager. In this role, you will help power the day-to-day functioning of our organization—building and sustaining the systems, processes, and infrastructure that allow our programs and community to thrive at the University of Maryland.
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in making things work well behind the scenes and understands that strong internal systems enable meaningful, relationship-driven work. As Business Manager, you’ll serve as a key connector across the team—helping staff stay aligned, supporting effective execution, and ensuring that our work runs smoothly and consistently.
Working closely with the Executive Director and leadership team, you will translate priorities into strong daily execution—balancing big-picture thinking with attention to detail and a willingness to jump in where needed.
What You’ll Do
- Help lead day-to-day operations and workflows across the organization, ensuring systems run smoothly and consistently in support of staff and programs
- Build and improve systems, processes, and internal documentation that strengthen clarity, efficiency, and shared understanding across the organization
- Coordinate calendars, communications, and shared tools to support alignment effective collaboration
- Oversee systems including Salesforce, WordPress, and MailChimp, ensuring they are maintained, accurate, and effectively supporting organizational needs
- Manage data, reporting, and dashboards to support tracking, evaluation, and informed decision-making
- Track invoices, expenses, and coordinate with finance partners to ensure accurate, timely, and organized financial processes
- Support logistics for programs and events, helping ensure smooth planning, coordination, and execution from start to finish
- Manage vendors and service providers, maintaining strong working relationships and ensuring effective delivery of services
- Coordinate internship program logistics and onboarding, supporting a structured and welcoming experience for participants and staff
- Support building operations and safety procedures, helping maintain a well-functioning, safe, and welcoming physical space
What You’ll Bring to the Job
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 4–7 years relevant experience in operations, administration, or related fields
- Strong organizational and systems skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Comfort working with data, reporting, and digital tools used to support operations and decision-making
What You’ll Receive
- Competitive salary in the non-profit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $65,000-75,000

Maryland Hillel, located in College Park, MD, near Washington, DC, enjoys a national reputation for its Jewish community, both due to its size with over 5,800 Jewish undergrads, and, more critically, due to the vibrancy of Jewish life on campus. A team of 12 professionals works in concert with Jewish students to provide a wide range of experiences and opportunities. Hillel strives to ensure that Jewish students derive meaning and value from connecting, in their individual ways, with our tradition, heritage, and Israel. Maryland Hillel attracts students nationwide to the University of Maryland, with large contingents from Maryland, the tri-state area, Florida, and California.
