Job Description
NBCUniversal’s Media Operations Center is home to multiple teams that support the inbound and outbound digital delivery of NBCUniversal content in a 24/7/365 environment. One of these teams is Quality Control (QC), which plays a critical role in ensuring content delivered to both linear and nonlinear playout destinations meet all technical and operational requirements.
The QC team is responsible for screening broadcast content through real‑time monitoring and spot checks. In support of Peacock, Broadcast, Studio, International, and Digital Supply Chain workflows, QC also captures key metadata on longform assets that enables viewer‑facing functionality such as “Skip Intro.” All NBCUniversal longform content, promos, commercials, and graphics flow through QC for validation, with issues identified and escalated according to established operational procedures.
QC operates at significant scale, processing extremely high content volumes with turnaround times that can be as short as 15 minutes. To ensure a high level of reliability and consistency, technicians complete an extensive training and certification process across multiple standard operating procedures, supporting near‑continuous accuracy in a mission‑critical environment. The Media Operations Specialist is a critical individual contributor within NBCUniversal’s Media Operations organization, responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and reliable fulfillment of media content across NBCUniversal’s distribution platforms. This role supports the end-to-end digital supply chain, including quality control, troubleshooting, workflow execution, and cross-functional coordination, while upholding operational reliability, technical accuracy, and service-level commitments.

- Support inbound and outbound asset workflows, ensuring assets are sourced, prepared, and delivered on time.
- Troubleshooting & Escalation
- Serve as an escalation point for technicians and operations staff for complex workflow, system, or asset-related issues.
- Troubleshoot media prep, QC, and delivery issues in real time, following defined escalation and communication protocols.
- Document issues, root causes, and resolutions, partnering with Supervisors, Engineering, Product, and Support teams to implement long-term fixes.
- Workflow, SOPs & Continuous Improvement
- Assist with the creation, maintenance, and publication of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure operational consistency and reliability.
- Support testing, rollout, and implementation of new systems, tools, workflows, and process enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and quality across media operations workflows.
- Training & Collaboration
- Support team training initiatives, including onboarding, workflow updates, and cross-training across media operations functions.
- Assist Supervisors with maintaining training documentation and training matrices.
- Partner closely with Program Operations, Technical Operations, QC, and other internal stakeholders to ensure successful asset fulfillment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
