We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a full-time, part-time engagement to establish a production-ready baseline cloud environment on Microsoft Azure. The focus of this role is on initial infrastructure setup, establishing deployment pipelines, and implementing industry best practices. A critical component of this engagement will also be delivering clear technical documentation and comprehensive knowledge transfer to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a baseline Azure cloud environment (resource groups, IAM/RBAC, basic networking).
- Set up secure infrastructure components, including Key Vault and access controls.
- Configure CI/CD pipelines for automated build and deployment (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Deploy and configure application hosting (e.g., Azure App Service, Container Apps, or AKS if required).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for core components using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM.
- Enable basic monitoring and logging via Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
- Apply cloud best practices for security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and conduct a knowledge transfer session upon project completion.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, specifically across compute, networking, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Proven experience in architecting and setting up cloud environments from scratch.
- Solid experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and various cloud hosting options including App Service, Container Apps, or AKS.
- Proficient scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
