WORLD WIDE PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS is a project solutions organization committed to implementing lean constructions, collaborative contracting, and execution approaches to enable breakthroughs in performance.

WWPS is hiring Design Managers to support a large-scale data center construction project in the Atlanta Metro Area. We are seeking Design Managers for each of the following discipline areas: Arch/Structural, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical.

This is a full time, 100% onsite role supporting a high visibility mission critical project. In this role, you will act as an extension of the owner’s team, leading discipline specific design coordination while integrating closely with construction, commissioning, turnover, operations, and client stakeholders. You will have real ownership over design execution, issue resolution, constructability, scope alignment, and delivery outcomes, not just coordination responsibility.

Wherever you are based, WWPS provides full relocation or travel support including per diem where applicable, ensuring a smooth transition so you can hit the ground running from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and integrate technical planning, scope development, design coordination, change management, engineering services, and discipline specific deliverables for large scale data center construction.
  • Lead design coordination for assigned discipline scope, including Arch/Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical systems.
  • Translate client, operations, construction, and commissioning requirements into clear design direction, scope documents, and executable deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, external A&E partners, trade contractors, construction managers, project managers, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
  • Support development and review of design packages, drawings, specifications, narratives, equipment layouts, system diagrams, and construction documents.
  • Drive constructability reviews, interdisciplinary coordination, BIM coordination, clash resolution, field issue resolution, and design quality reviews.
  • Manage discipline specific design decisions that affect cost, schedule, procurement, permitting, logistics, installation sequencing, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Support scope definition and change management for evolving data center requirements, including capacity, redundancy, power distribution, cooling, site infrastructure, and operational needs.
  • Develop and support RFPs, scopes of work, design consultant packages, and external engineering contracts.
  • Manage external consultants and contracted design resources responsible for producing engineering and design deliverables.
  • Work with client engineering and operations stakeholders to align design standards, construction specifications, maintainability requirements, and long term operational expectations.
  • Perform conceptual design and engineering analysis for multiple project scenarios, including high level schedule, budget, constructability, and execution impacts.
  • Support safety by design practices and ensure design solutions account for installation, operations, maintenance, commissioning, and long term facility performance.
  • Monitor design progress, identify risks, escalate issues, and help maintain alignment between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning milestones.

Requirements

  • Proven track record managing engineering and design scope on large, complex technical facilities.
  • Data center, mission critical, high tech manufacturing, semiconductor, cleanroom, industrial, utility infrastructure, or large scale commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Strong discipline expertise in one or more of the following areas: Arch/Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical.
  • Ability to provide strategic and tactical direction to engineering teams, design consultants, trade partners, and matrixed project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of design coordination, constructability, construction sequencing, RFI resolution, submittal review, change management, and field execution support.
  • Ability to communicate technical design information clearly to project managers, construction managers, client stakeholders, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and drive decisions in a fast moving project environment.
  • Experience supporting large capital projects with aggressive schedules, complex systems, and high levels of coordination.
  • Familiarity with data center systems is highly preferred, including power distribution, backup power, cooling systems, building automation, fire protection, security infrastructure, structural systems, site utilities, and commissioning requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, design deliverables, issue logs, and stakeholder requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent field, design, construction, or project delivery experience will be considered.
  • 10 or more years of experience in design management, project engineering, project management, construction management, or engineering leadership.
  • 5 or more years of experience leading teams, consultants, trade partners, or matrixed project stakeholders preferred.
  • Data center, mission critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, or large scale infrastructure project experience is a strong plus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Highly competitive compensation aligned with senior level leadership roles.
  • Per diem and travel support where applicable.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Company matched retirement plan.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.

Why Top Candidates Choose WWPS

  • Work on complex, high impact data center and advanced infrastructure projects.
  • Operate in a true owner’s representative capacity with visibility and influence.
  • Support mission critical facilities where design quality, coordination, and execution matter.
  • Be part of a team focused on project delivery, field execution, and practical problem solving.
  • Grow alongside major digital infrastructure expansion across the United States.
  • Join a company that is scaling and investing in top technical project talent.
