Job Description
To provide frontline mental health crisis support and intervention to individuals in the South West of England, operating within NHS Band 4 scope to assess, triage, and de-escalate acute psychological distress.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Respond to crisis calls within target timeframes
- Conduct mental state risk assessments accurately
- De-escalate acute distress safely and effectively
- Signpost or refer to appropriate ongoing care
- Maintain clear, timely clinical records
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in Health & Social Care
- Experience in mental health or crisis settings
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act and safeguarding
- Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends
- Valid driving licence for community-based work
- Risk assessment
- Mental state examination
- Crisis de-escalation techniques
- Safeguarding procedures
- NHS clinical record systems (e.g. RiO, SystmOne)
- Triage and signposting
- Empathy and active listening
- Resilience under pressure
- Clear communication
- Team collaboration
