Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Guest Service Agent who enjoys engaging with and assisting guests and colleagues.  You will support the Front Office Assistant Managers with daily tasks at Reception and create a welcoming space for our guests. Offering the award rate of $25.70 per hour (increasing from 1 July) plus applicable penalty rates, this role offers a great development opportunity to grow your skills and confidence in a busy hotel in the heart of Melbourne's conferencing precinct and to be a part of the global Accor community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a unique and personalized experience for each guest at our hotel by creating connections and using creative ways to exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensuring a warm and professional check in and check out experience for every guest
  • Supporting the wider front office team when required, including concierge and reservations
  • Taking and directing incoming calls and responding to guest requests
  • Sharing information about the hotel and the local area with our guests
  • Maintaining the presentation of the front desk and hotel lobby

Qualifications

  • Availability to work a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Occasional overnight shifts may be required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritise tasks
  • Knowledge of the Opera property management system would be an advantage, however training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good keyboard skills
  • Familiarity with Melbourne and the ability to make recommendations to guests is desirable 
  • Current RSA, or willing to obtain prior to commencement
  • You must have current full-time working rights in Australia. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
