Job Description

As our Hyperscale Security Engineer, you will lead physical and electronic security engineering design and delivery across our development and expansion projects. Working closely with customer security teams, you’ll integrate security requirements from concept and design through construction and into live operations, ensuring our data centres meet the exacting standards of government, enterprise and hyperscale clients.

You’ll work across domestic and international sites and partner with stakeholders at every level of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead physical and electronic security engineering design and delivery across development and expansion projects, integrating customer security requirements into the design and development process
  • Establish and maintain robust Construction Security Plans to manage risk during construction adjacent to live operational data centres and oversee the structured transition of construction areas to operational customer security teams
  • Conduct Capex and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) options analysis, including comprehensive risk assessments, and present structured recommendations to support business case and investment decisions
  • Prepare, manage and evaluate tender and contract specifications, and conduct peer reviews and workflow assessments via Aconex and Procore across all security documentation
  • Perform construction-phase site inspections, on-site commissioning and delivery troubleshooting across domestic and international sites and provide ongoing Facilities Management support post handover
  • Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders, review emerging security technology best practice, and contribute to NEXTDC’s Security Roadmap

This opportunity will see you working with world leaders in our space. Join our journey now and be an integral part of our success. We are happy for this position to be based in Melbourne or Sydney

  • Current AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance, or the demonstrated ability to obtain clearance within the first six months of appointment
  • Desirable: Diploma of Security Risk Management and ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification.
