About the Role
We're looking for an HR Generalist who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys balancing people, process, and compliance.
At Cloud9, this role sits at the center of the employee experience. You'll support recruiting, onboarding, payroll administration, employee relations, labor compliance, and health & safety processes while helping us build a strong foundation for growth.
This is not a highly specialized HR role.
We're looking for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, solving problems independently, and helping a growing company operate smoothly.
You'll partner closely with leadership, employees, external payroll providers, and recruiting teams to ensure that both people and processes scale effectively.
What You'll Do
Own Core HR Operations
Manage day-to-day HR administration across the employee lifecycle.
Maintain employee records and documentation.
Ensure personnel files and HR processes remain compliant and organized.
Support employee questions related to policies, benefits, payroll, and labor regulations.
Payroll & Labor Administration
Manage payroll novelties including vacation requests, medical leaves, absences, overtime, and other payroll variables.
Partner with payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll processing.
Review and validate payroll reports prior to submission.
Support social security processes, PILA reporting, and employee documentation.
Ensure compliance with Colombian labor regulations.
Health & Safety (SG-SST)
Coordinate and maintain Cloud9's SG-SST program.
Work with external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance.
Maintain required documentation, trainings, and reporting.
Track action plans and regulatory requirements.
Ensure the company remains compliant with Colombian health and safety obligations.
Recruiting & Onboarding
Support recruitment efforts across operations, hospitality, business, and corporate roles.
Coordinate interviews and candidate communications.
Assist with onboarding and new hire integration.
Ensure a smooth employee experience from offer acceptance through onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers and recruiting teams to support hiring goals.
Employee Experience & Culture
Help create a positive employee experience across the organization.
Coordinate employee engagement initiatives and internal events.
Support performance management and employee development processes.
Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers.
Process Improvement & Compliance
Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and workflows.
Create and maintain HR documentation, policies, and SOPs.
Ensure compliance with labor regulations and company policies.
Support audits and reporting requirements as needed.
What Success Looks Like
Day 30
Develop a strong understanding of Cloud9's people processes, payroll workflows, and compliance requirements.
Build relationships with employees and key stakeholders.
Successfully support onboarding, payroll administration, and HR operations.
Day 90
Own HR administration with minimal supervision.
Payroll variables and employee documentation are accurate and submitted on time.
SG-SST processes are organized and compliant.
Employees know who to go to for support and guidance.
Month 12
Cloud9 has scalable HR processes that support company growth.
Compliance, payroll administration, and employee experience operate smoothly.
Recruiting and onboarding processes are efficient and well-organized.
Employees experience responsive, professional, and trustworthy HR support.
What We're Looking For
3–6+ years of HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, People Operations, or Human Resources experience
Experience working in startups, SMEs, or companies with approximately 20–100 employees
Hands-on experience managing payroll novelties and payroll administration
Experience working with Colombian labor regulations and employment practices
Experience coordinating SG-SST programs and compliance activities
Experience supporting recruiting and onboarding processes
Familiarity with social security processes and PILA administration
Skills & Qualifications
Fluent English and Spanish (B2+ minimum; C1 preferred)
Strong organizational and administrative skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong problem-solving mindset
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
