Job Description

The Buyer/Planner is responsible for end-to-end material planning and procurement for assigned suppliers and product categories. This role ensures product availability through accurate forecasting, purchasing, and inventory management, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecasting & Planning

    • Analyze demand requirements and develop accurate forecasts for assigned materials
    • Identify supply needs and proactively manage inventory levels (units and dollar value)
    • Monitor trends and adjust plans to ensure uninterrupted product availability
  • Procurement & Supplier Management

    • Issue and manage purchase orders to assigned suppliers
    • Own full lifecycle responsibility for designated materials and supplier accounts
    • Track order status and ensure on-time delivery and fulfillment
  • Inventory & Supply Management

    • Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance availability and financial targets
    • Monitor piece counts and inventory value to support business objectives
    • Resolve supply constraints and escalate issues with a strong sense of urgency
  • Customer & Supplier Support

    • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers
    • Act as primary point of contact for assigned supplier base
    • Build and maintain strong, effective supplier relationships
  • Execution & Follow-Up

    • Ensure thorough and consistent follow-up on all orders, issues, and commitments
    • Drive timely resolution of supply gaps, delays, and discrepancies
    • Operate with a proactive, results-driven mindset

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience in SAP (MM/Procurement/Planning modules preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain operations

  • Firm, confident decision-maker with the ability to influence outcomes
  • Assertive, proactive, and results-oriented approach
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate with persistence and high standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
