Position Summary
Inspect, monitor, control, and patrol work sites. Guards property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.
Hours are from 2:00pm - 10:30pm.
Essential Job Functions
- Preserves order and enforces security regulations.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing trucks; document and process required paperwork.
- Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure and in proper working order; report deficiencies to appropriate leadership.
- Patrol buildings and grounds of the plant.
- Watch and report conditions that could result in injury, including fire hazards, leaking pipes, spills, and faulty equipment.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to determine if tampering has occurred.
- Warn violators of rule infractions, including loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles; report violations to appropriate leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Completion of an accredited Security Guard Program
- Knowledge of all policies and procedures for plant security
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond to different situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude
- Strong attention to detail
Environmental / Working Conditions
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and various shift schedules
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35°F and 95°F; may occasionally exceed or fall below this range

Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers in repetitive motions
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head
- Occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate effectively
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes, and varying noise levels from office to loud industrial environments
