Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated leader to bring a customer and quality-focused approach to our development process. As a Senior QA Analyst, you are an advocate for our players, ensuring our games meet the high quality standards our community expects. You will be embedded within development teams, performing essential QA activities across the full lifecycle of our titles.

Beyond testing, you will support the intentional improvement of QA as an embedded practice, offering thoughtful feedback while mentoring others to maintain our quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Embedded Strategy & Execution: Act as a quality partner within development squads, creating test strategies, documentation, and test plans based on project needs.
  • Defect Management: Document observed bugs or failures with clarity and supporting evidence. Manage the defect lifecycle within Jira, ensuring clear communication with local and remote team members.
  • Player Advocacy: Contribute to player enjoyment by offering respectful feedback on game mechanics and usability, ensuring the "player experience" is central to every build.
  • Risk Assessment & Reporting: Use industry-standard techniques to report on build health and test coverage. Assess software quality through the lens of risk to help stakeholders make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Automation Integration: Use automation technologies to supplement human-led QA activities, implementing project-specific techniques where possible.
  • External Coordination: Liaise with external testing teams, ensuring communication and alignment on quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development of our internal QA methodologies and workflows.
  • Planning: Work alongside Engineering, Design, and Production to develop test strategies, ensuring quality is integrated into the project roadmap from pre-production through to launch.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years in video games QA, with experience shipping titles throughout their full lifecycle.
  • Methodology: Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, including Functional and Acceptance testing.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with leadership, clients, and internal teams.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage your own time and priorities in an embedded environment.
  • Technical Stack: Proficiency in Atlassian Suite, Slack and Test plan management tools.

Please note this position is only available to individuals with full working rights in Australia. Sponsorship and relocation is not being offered.

If you do not have prior QA experience in video games, unfortunately you will not be considered for this role.

Qualifications

  • Console Expertise: Experience with Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft technical and certification requirements, including devkit/testkit management.
  • Specialised Platforms: Experience with mobile platform sideloading and enterprise software testing.
  • Documentation Tools: Familiarity with Confluence and Google Drive for maintaining project knowledge bases.
  • Culture Fit: A mindset that values kind and respectful peer feedback and a drive to support the QA profession within the games industry.
