Compensation: Starting at $18.00/hour, with higher pay available based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Forming Technician to support precision metal fabrication operations. This role focuses on the setup, programming, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC press brake equipment used to manufacture high-quality sheet metal components.

The successful candidate will possess strong fabrication experience, the ability to interpret engineering documentation, and a commitment to producing accurate parts while maintaining safety and quality standards.

### Primary Responsibilities

Prepare press brake equipment for production by selecting tooling, loading programs, and completing machine setups.

Retrieve, upload, and modify CNC programs through machine interfaces as required.

Configure tooling and die combinations based on material type, thickness, and finished part requirements.

Produce formed metal components according to engineering specifications and quality requirements.

Interpret blueprints, bend schedules, technical drawings, and fabrication instructions.

Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Verify machine setup and calibration before and during production runs.

Diagnose and resolve forming challenges related to material characteristics, spring-back, tooling wear, and setup conditions.

Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of press brake equipment and tooling.

Accurately document production data, setup information, material usage, and completed quantities.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Exercise independent judgment when making setup adjustments and quality-related decisions.

### Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC press brake equipment.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.

Experience working with a variety of materials, including:

• Galvanized steel
• Stainless steel
• Aluminum
• Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid mathematical skills related to fabrication and manufacturing.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and twist throughout the workday.
• Comfortable working in manufacturing environments that may experience varying temperatures.

### Preferred Experience

Experience working with graphical CNC control interfaces.

Previous manual press brake operating experience.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

High level of situational awareness and attention to detail.
