Location: Newport News, VA 23602
Job Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
Shifts Available: 1st or 3rd Shift (based on business needs)
Pay: Starting at $18/hour, with higher rates for experienced candidates

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CNC Press Brake Operator to support sheet metal forming operations in a production environment. This role involves machine setup, programming adjustments, forming operations, and quality checks to ensure accurate, high-quality parts.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with press brake equipment, understands sheet metal fabrication processes, and is comfortable working independently to meet production goals.

### Key Responsibilities
  • Set up CNC press brake machines, including selecting tooling and loading programs
  • Access, edit, and adjust CNC programs through machine controls
  • Configure dies and tooling based on material and part requirements
  • Form sheet metal components to meet engineering specifications
  • Interpret blueprints, bend charts, and production instructions
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
  • Verify setup accuracy and make adjustments during production runs
  • Troubleshoot forming issues such as spring-back, tooling wear, or material variations
  • Complete routine maintenance checks and assist with basic equipment troubleshooting
  • Record production information, setup details, and material usage
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Use independent judgment when making setup and quality decisions
  • ### Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of CNC press brake setup and operation experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Experience working with galvanized steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
  • Skilled in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Solid math skills related to fabrication work
  • Ability to lift 50–75 lbs as needed
  • Comfortable standing and moving throughout the workday
  • Able to work in varying industrial temperatures
  • ### Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with graphical CNC control systems
  • Experience operating manual press brake equipment
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and awareness in a production setting

  • Amada HG1303-M30 Press Brake (143 Ton)
  • Amada HD1003 ATC Press Brake
  • Amada HDS-8025 NT CNC Press Brake
