AI Lead

Job Description

Viva Energy is seeking an experienced AI Lead to shape and drive our enterprise AI strategy. This role is responsible for establishing effective operating models, roadmaps, and governance frameworks to ensure the successful adoption of AI across the organisation.

Working closely with both technology and business teams, the AI Lead will architect scalable, secure, and commercially viable AI-driven solutions. This position combines strategic Solution Architecture with hands-on Solution Design, ensuring all AI initiatives align with governance principles, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities & Requirements

AI Strategy & Leadership

• Define and lead the enterprise AI strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and delivery of measurable value.

Operating Model & Capability

• Design and implement the AI operating model, including clear roles, responsibilities, and governance frameworks to support sustainable AI adoption.

Strategic Roadmaps

• Develop and maintain AI roadmaps, frameworks, and reusable patterns to guide technology investment and drive business outcomes.

Security & Compliance

• Architect AI solutions that comply with enterprise security standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Financial Accountability

• Ensure a commercially sound approach to AI by balancing innovation with cost discipline, delivering initiatives within agreed financial targets.

Operational Excellence

• Oversee the operationalisation of AI solutions, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and provide ongoing value to stakeholders.

AI Governance & Ethics

• Define and embed enterprise-wide AI governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with ethical principles, risk management, and compliance standards.

Technical Leadership

• Provide leadership and guidance to technology teams, establishing best practices in AI architecture, design, and delivery.

Use Case Delivery

• Support the identification, design, and delivery of high-impact AI use cases that drive tangible business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred).
• AI-related certifications (preferred).
• Extensive proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering architecture across enterprise programs.
• Strong knowledge of data privacy, security and regulatory requirements.
