At Adler & Allan, no two days are the same. We’re looking for a motivated, hands-on Environmental Response HGV Technician / Multi-Skilled Operative to join our growing Rainham team.
This is far more than a standard HGV driving role. You’ll be part of a specialist operational team delivering environmental services, emergency spill response, industrial cleaning, drainage works, and remediation projects both local and across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating company vehicles including HGV Class 2 tankers and specialist equipment
- Carrying out high-pressure water jetting, drain and interceptor cleaning works
- Supporting environmental spill response operations, including oil, fuel, and chemical incidents
- Assisting with tank uplifts, industrial cleaning, forecourt PPM works, and remediation projects
- Operating pumps, vacuums, hoses, and associated environmental response equipment
- Working alongside experienced multi-skilled operatives on major projects and reactive works
- Completing vehicle checks, site paperwork, and safety documentation
- Supporting emergency response call-outs as part of the on-call rota
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- A practical, hands-on approach with a strong work ethic
- Experience within:
- Tankering
- Drainage or jetting operations
- Environmental services
- Groundworks, remediation, or industrial cleaning would be highly advantageous
- Knowledge of vehicle checks and tachograph compliance
- Ability to work safely and professionally in fast-paced environments
- Flexible attitude towards overtime, travel, and emergency response work
ADR Licence preferred but not essential, training can be provided for the right candidate.
On-Call & Overtime
This role includes participation in an on-call rota approximately 1 week in every 5–6 weeks, supporting emergency environmental response works.
