Job Description
Facilitate Project Execution – basic day-to-day accounting functions, analysis and forecasting of expenditures, and reporting on project performance.
- Ownership of cost controls ensuring compliance to budget, scope, and schedule during all stages of projects
- Manage budget updates and reforecasts in line with the project schedule in consultation with Studies Team
- Facilitate development and implementation of mitigation strategies to ensure both budget and schedule are maintained through completion of project
- Manage project general ledger accounts and month-end processes to ensure proper allocation of project costs
- Assists in the establishment of controls for new projects
- Create reports on project performance relating to schedule and costs including budgets, actuals, forecasts, and variances
- Assist in the updates and reviews of Project Execution policies in compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
- 3-7 years of accounting experience in a related field
- Certifications in accounting or cost control (i.e. CPA, CMA, CFA, CCP, CCC) will be highly regarded
- Degree qualified in an accounting or finance related discipline
- Knowledge of finance and accounting best practices
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of Pronto will be highly regarded
