Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Engineer - Control Systems who will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Distributed Control System and conducting audit and monitoring of equipment control reliability. The role also entails representing the Company to all required permits, agencies, and partners. The role will report to the Senior Engineer - Control Systems.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Responsible for the engineering, implementation, and maintenance of advance control applications under the Distribution Control System (DCS), Rockwell Automation (SCADA) and motor frequency drives (VFD)
• Perform CENTUM VP, SCADA and VFD maintenance
• Lead the design of measurement and control element devices, device signals and transmission media
• Perform industrial process measurement and control
• Support conceptual design of control and information systems and develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) in accordance with the design
• Assess plant facilities, process arrangement, and take lead role in troubleshooting any control system abnormalities and issues that may arise 
• Develop industrial process procedures for operations and maintenance team and the alignment of the control systems to maintenance processes and practices for managing spares, producing instructions and SOPs

Qualifications

• Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
• Licensed Electrical or Electronics or Instrumentation and Control Engineer
• At least graduate of Electrical Engineering or other equivalent engineering discipline
• PRC license is an advantage
• At least three (3) years of experience in similar role as Control System Engineer in minerals processing or similar industry
• Demonstrate open-mindedness, creative thinking, and a willingness to adapt to the dynamic work environment
• Commercial acumen relevant to the role and strong demonstrated abilities to lead and work effectively within culturally diverse workforce settings
• Knowledgeable and experienced in working with Rockwell Automation software and Allen‑Bradley hardware
• Have knowledge in Yokogawa Centum VP particularly in control systems / DCS engineering perspective
• Knowledge on field instrumentations and automation systems
• Knowledge on the following is an advantage: OSIsoft / AVEVA PI System, VFD (Siemens, ABB, Power Electronics)
• Studio 5000/ RS Logix 500/5000 - Primary programming environment for ControlLogix & CompactLogix PLCs, FactoryTalk View (ME & SE) HMI and SCADA development Yokogawa  CentumVP control and HMI development, Data Communication Across Subsystem (Modbus, Profibus, OPC)
