Job Description
Scope of Position:
Provide support to the Regional Accounting Team, in order to improve the accounting processes and the internal control framework across Canada, México and Latin America, and by doing so, ensure that financial information submitted to our corporate headquarters (CHQ) is accurate, complete, and aligned with US GAAPs definitions and any other local requirement.
Countries in Scope: Latam Region (10 countries), Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Major Tasks & Responsibilities:
Finance:
- Monthly Review of Countries P&L Submission Packages, and approval for Month End Close.
- Execute the review procedures to ensure global accounting entries submitted by CHQ are timely and accurately posted by all the countries.
- Actively participate on the monthly review of third-party outlays and Intercompany entries, to validate compliance with our Global Policies and Procedures.
- Provide support on the execution of Annual Internal Control Evaluations to the Countries in scope, in conjunction with the rest of the Regional Finance team.
- Support Country Controllers and other accounting staff to guarantee a proper application/adoption of Company´s Policies, Standards and Accounting Guidance.
- Collaborate with the Country Controllers and/or Regional Accounting team on the preparation and delivery of any Accounting related Global request / information requirement.
- Participate in the review of Accounting Processes, in order to look for improvement opportunities with positive impact on Productivity and Efficiency in Accounting.
- Provide financial and accounting expertise and support for the regional business operations management teams.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of financial policies and procedures.
Compliance:
- Promote a culture of compliance with Company policies and government regulations, by coordinating and deploying training sessions as needed.
- Serve as a role model in the demonstration of ethical business practices and conduct.

Qualifications
Skills:
- Relevant bachelor's or master's degree with accounting degrees (preferably Chartered Accountants/Certified Public Accountants)
- 3-5 years of experience post college (preferably with a stint in public accounting) and knowledgeable of taxation and other technical accounting requirements
- US GAAP experience
- Advanced in Microsoft Office, including Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, Portuguese will be a plus.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with an attention to the details.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to financial persons as well as non-financial persons at all levels from Operations to Senior Management.
- Proven leadership attitude and skills.
- Ability to drive and lead through change.
- Experience in compliance and internal controls.
