Senior Analyst, Cloud FinOps

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Analyst: Cloud FinOps to lead cloud cost optimisation initiatives and drive value realisation across a complex enterprise environment. This role combines deep cloud financial management expertise with strategic leadership, enabling the organisation to maximise the value of its cloud investments while maintaining financial accountability and operational excellence.

As a subject matter expert, you will develop and evolve Cloud FinOps capabilities, provide technical leadership to analysts, and partner with engineering, architecture, finance, and business stakeholders to drive cost-efficient cloud adoption and sustainable optimisation outcomes.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant FinOps, AWS, Cloud Financial Management, Technology Business Management (TBM), or related certifications will be advantageous

Experience Required
 

8–10 years

• Extensive experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, technology finance, cloud operations, or related disciplines
• Deep expertise in AWS cost optimisation, cloud economics, and financial governance
• Strong understanding of cloud consumption models, pricing structures, reservation strategies, and optimisation techniques
• Experience developing forecasting models, financial plans, budgets, and executive reporting for large-scale technology environments
• Proven ability to analyse large and complex datasets and translate findings into strategic recommendations
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving organisational change through data-driven insights
• Demonstrated success in leading optimisation initiatives that deliver measurable financial and operational outcomes
• Practical experience implementing projects and leading teams in complex enterprise environments
• Exposure to Technology Business Management (TBM), FinOps frameworks, and cloud governance practices

8–10 years

• Deep AWS cloud financial management expertise
• Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
• Ability to communicate complex technical and financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience building business cases and demonstrating value realisation
