About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Processing, the Process Engineer is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and effectively implementing process improvement initiatives which improve production efficiency.
To be successful, we are looking for a highly motivated and resourceful leader with strong learning agility and with exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, who can effectively learn from and engage with professionals across departments and at varying levels of the organization; someone with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, troubleshooting, decision-making, analytical and organizational abilities. This position requires a flexible individual who can adapt to changing needs in fast-paced environment, and who can work with nominal supervision using a collaborative approach on a team that tackles complex and novel issues. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker who can drive and keep pace with change and innovation.

- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Conduct a daily routine Plant walkthrough, critical process check
- Work as a part of a highly collaborative team with a focus on delivering value and promoting sharing of best practices across Water Operations
- Provide visible felt leadership through frequent engagement with operational personnel
- Analyze data from assigned operations/projects and make recommendations for troubleshooting and process improvement through regular presentations
- Develop test plans, provide oversight, and actively participate in test execution – including working closely with operations to develop operating work instructions, management and data analysis of test results, and documentation of results through formal reports
- Participate in the Management of Change process including stakeholder engagement, risk analysis and documentation
- Conduct engineering calculations, check, and review for projects
- Coach junior staff such as technicians and coops
- Previous work experience in heavy industry
- Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals such as mass balances, fluid mechanics, and equipment sizing/selection
- Registered, or working towards registration as a qualified professional (e.g. P.Eng., P.L.Eng)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
