Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Production Equipment & Supply Coordinator to manage the day-to-day coordination of calibrated equipment, consumable supplies, and tooling across our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate ensures that all equipment is maintained in calibration compliance, that production teams are consistently stocked with the materials they need, and that tooling procurement is handled efficiently and cost-effectively. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting a smooth, uninterrupted production environment.
What You’ll Do
• Maintain a comprehensive inventory and tracking system for all calibrated equipment, including gauges, torque tools, measurement devices, and test instruments.
• Coordinate scheduled calibration events with internal technicians and approved third-party calibration vendors to ensure all equipment meets required standards (e.g., ISO, NIST traceable).
• Monitor calibration expiration dates and proactively schedule renewals to prevent use of out-of-calibration equipment on the production floor.
• Manage calibration records and certificates in accordance with quality system requirements; ensure documentation is audit-ready at all times.
• Identify equipment due for replacement or repair and initiate appropriate disposition processes in coordination with quality and maintenance teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for calibration-related inquiries from production, quality, and engineering teams.
Consumable Supply Management
• Own the ordering, stocking, and replenishment of production consumables including fasteners, adhesives, lubricants, PPE, abrasives, and other line-side materials.
• Establish and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels to ensure continuous supply availability without excess stock buildup.
• Monitor usage trends and adjust par levels in response to production schedule changes, ramp-ups, or new product introductions.
• Coordinate with production supervisors and leads to anticipate demand and prevent stockouts that could disrupt operations.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits; reconcile discrepancies and maintain accurate records in inventory management systems.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, lead time, and cost; recommend alternative sources when needed.
Tooling Procurement & Management
• Process tooling requisitions and purchase orders for hand tools, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and production tooling in accordance with approved vendor lists and budget parameters.
• Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to identify tooling requirements for new programs, line changes, or equipment upgrades.
• Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery; communicate delays proactively to affected stakeholders.
• Maintain an organized tool crib or storage system; ensure tools are properly labeled, stored, and accessible to authorized personnel.
• Monitor tool life cycles and worn or damaged tooling replacement needs; maintain accurate records of tool status and usage history.
• Support cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for tooling standardization, vendor consolidation, or alternative sourcing.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Act as a liaison between production, procurement, engineering, quality, and finance teams to align equipment and supply needs with operational priorities.
• Maintain organized records for all equipment, supply, and tooling transactions; generate regular reports on inventory status, spending, and calibration compliance.
• Support new product launches and line transitions by ensuring all required equipment, tooling, and consumables are available ahead of start dates.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain efficiency, inventory accuracy, and equipment reliability.
What You’ll Need
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, supply coordination, tool crib management, or a related role.
• Demonstrated experience managing calibrated equipment programs or working within an ISO-certified or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of consumable supply management, inventory control principles, and purchasing processes.
• Experience using ERP, CMMS, or inventory management software to track materials, equipment, and purchase orders.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable working with production, engineering, and quality teams.
You’ll Stand Out
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with NIST-traceable calibration standards, measurement system analysis (MSA), or ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems.
• Experience with tool crib management systems or dedicated calibration tracking software (e.g., Calibration Recall, Gage Pack).
• Background in lean manufacturing, 5S, or inventory optimization methodologies.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training background.
What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
• Paid Time Off
