Pipe Makers Australia is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner & Procurement to join our manufacturing team in Deer Park.
This is a key role within the maintenance function, responsible for coordinating maintenance planning, managing spare parts inventory, and overseeing procurement activities to support plant reliability and operational performance. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and maintenance team, you will help ensure equipment uptime, cost control, and efficient maintenance execution across the site.
About the Role
As the Maintenance Planner & Procurement, you will be responsible for planning preventative and corrective maintenance activities, managing maintenance stores and inventory, and coordinating the procurement of parts, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing operations.
You will play a critical role in maintaining plant reliability while ensuring materials and resources are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Coordinate maintenance work orders and ensure maintenance activities are planned and executed efficiently.
- Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
- Source, purchase, and coordinate the delivery of maintenance parts, consumables, and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service agreements with vendors.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to forecast material requirements and plan upcoming works.
- Monitor procurement expenditure and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inventory, and procurement records.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance planning and stores management.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
About You
- Trade, maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing background.
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Scheduler, Maintenance Coordinator, Stores Coordinator, or Procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance planning and maintenance systems.
- Experience managing spare parts inventory and procurement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and contractors.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong competence in MEX CMMS maintenance systems.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and reporting systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
