A DAY IN A LIFE
As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:
Lead and oversee the end-to-end procurement and sourcing function across the Teleport Group, driving procurement governance, strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement operations, cost optimization, and process transformation initiatives.
You'll work closely with stakeholders across functions and geographies, acting as a trusted business partner to deliver commercial value, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with internal policies. In doing so, you'll balance the need for speed and agility with strong procurement governance and disciplined decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Most of your time will be spent driving impact through:
1. Procurement Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall procurement strategy aligned with Teleport’s business objectives and growth plans.
- Lead the procurement function across all spend categories including technology, logistics, operations, marketing, professional services, facilities, and corporate functions.
- Build and strengthen procurement governance, policies, controls, and operating procedures across the Group.
- Drive procurement transformation initiatives, automation, and continuous process improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to build a high-performing and commercially driven function.
2. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, commercial negotiations, RFQs/RFPs, contract renewals, and supplier selection exercises.
- Develop category strategies to optimize cost, quality, service levels, and supplier performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver measurable procurement value and operational efficiencies.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and support business priorities.
3. Supplier & Contract Management
- Establish and maintain strong supplier relationship management practices.
- Negotiate commercial terms, service agreements, and contracts to ensure favorable outcomes for the Group.
- Monitor supplier performance, service delivery, risk exposure, and contractual compliance.
- Manage supplier escalations, dispute resolution, and business continuity considerations.
4. Procurement Operations & Governance
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Drive segregation of duties, approval governance, and procurement controls across the organization.
- Collaborate with other departments on procurement-related matters.
5. Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead procurement systems enhancement initiatives, including ERP, procurement platforms, vendor onboarding systems, and workflow automation.
- Improve procurement analytics, reporting, spend visibility, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Standardize procurement processes and documentation across entities and regions where applicable.
6. Risk & Compliance Management
- Identify and mitigate supplier, operational, contractual, and procurement-related risks.
- Support internal and external audit requirements relating to procurement activities.
- Ensure ethical sourcing practices and adherence to company governance standards.
Requirements
These are minimum-requirement skills and a ‘must-have’ for the role:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant procurement and sourcing experience, including leadership experience managing regional or group-level procurement functions.
- Strong experience in strategic sourcing, procurement operations, supplier negotiations, and procurement governance.
- Experience supporting fast-paced, high-growth, or multinational environments is highly preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven track record in cost optimization and stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with procurement systems, ERP platforms, and procurement digitalization initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across multiple business entities.
These are preferred experience for the role:
- Experience in logistics, aviation, technology, e-commerce, or regional operational environments.
- Exposure to procurement transformation and process automation projects.
- Experience managing procurement across multiple countries or business units.
LOCATION REQUIREMENT: Please note that this role requires on-site presence at both RedQ, Sepang (2 days per week) and Teleport HQ, Plaza Zurich Damansara Heights (2 days per week).
