About the Role
Global X is a pioneer in thematic investing, and our Legal team is the engine behind our product innovation. We are seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented Senior Paralegal to join our Legal team and support ETF product launches and maintenance, international distribution, corporate governance, and broader legal operations initiatives.
Working closely with attorneys across the Legal team, the Senior Paralegal will serve as a key operational partner, helping manage complex regulatory filings, legal projects, and governance activities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers significant exposure to ETF launches, SEC filings, international distribution, and legal operations, with the opportunity to take ownership of critical legal processes and projects.
Key Responsibilities
ETF Launches & Regulatory Filings (Primary Focus)
SEC Filings & Product Support: Support ETF launches and ongoing product maintenance, including preparation, review, and version control of regulatory filings (e.g., annual registration statement updates, 485 filings, 497 filings, NFA exemptions, and related state filings).
EDGAR Operations: Manage the EDGAR filing process end-to-end, including document compilation, formatting, submission, and confirmation of acceptance.
Regulatory Coordination: Assist with SEC comment responses and coordinate with internal stakeholders, external counsel, and service providers to support filings including Forms 13F, 13G, and 13H.
Documentation & Quality Control: Draft, proofread, and conduct consistency and version-control reviews of disclosure documents and related materials.
Project Management: Maintain filing calendars, workflow schedules, status reports, and internal trackers to ensure timely, accurate submissions and adherence to deadlines.
International Distribution Support
Regulatory Coordination: Track jurisdictional requirements, maintain regulatory matrices, and organize guidance from local counsel.
Documentation Support: Provide documentation and administrative support for international ETF distribution initiatives and cross-border fund registrations.
Agreements Management: Support execution and maintenance of international selling agreements, platform documentation, and related distribution arrangements.
Contract & Agreement Management
Contract Administration: Organize and maintain agreement records, including executed agreements, amendments, restatements, and governance documentation.
Contract Review Support: Conduct preliminary review of NDAs and corporate agreements and support attorney review of more complex contracts.
Board & Governance Support: Prepare board materials, resolutions, fund governance documentation, and related legal memoranda.
Execution & Coordination: Prepare documents for execution and coordinate signature collection with internal and external stakeholders.
Legal Operations, Employment Support & Project Management
Workflow & Project Management: Track deliverables, maintain timelines, and support coordination across legal workstreams and strategic initiatives.
Process Improvement: Contribute to legal operations initiatives, including template standardization, playbook development, workflow enhancements, and technology implementation projects.
Employment & Litigation Support: Assist with employment-related matters, internal reviews, outside counsel requests, litigation holds, and document collection.
File & Records Management: Maintain matter files, support scheduling and deadlines, and ensure accurate recordkeeping across legal matters.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with attorneys, business stakeholders, IT, and external service providers to improve legal processes and operational efficiency.
Who We’re Looking For
Experience and Core Skills:
3–5 years of paralegal experience within a law firm or in-house legal team supporting exchange-traded funds (ETFs), open-end mutual funds, and/or closed-end funds
Prior experience with ETFs, registered funds, or SEC filings strongly preferred
Deep familiarity with SEC filing processes and document management practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal team members
Professional judgment, discretion, and reliability in handling sensitive information
Bachelor’s degree (required); a Paralegal Certificate is a plus.
