Lovelytics

Posted about 5 hours ago

Since 2017, Lovelytics has helped some of the most complex enterprises in Media & Entertainment, Manufacturing, Retail & CPG, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Financial Services actually modernize their data and put AI to work — not in a deck, but in production. We move fast, stay close to the cutting edge, and care more about outcomes than optics.

We're the first consulting firm backed by Databricks Ventures — which tells you something about how seriously we take the technology we build on. Alongside Interlock Equity, that backing has helped us grow from 50 to 500+ people in three years, while keeping the technical depth and low-ego culture that makes the work worth doing.

We’re looking for a strategic and business-savvy Business Analyst to join our Value Realization team. This role bridges the gap between business strategy and technical execution, helping clients define, design, and realize value from their data, analytics, and AI investments. You'll partner with business leaders, functional experts, and technical delivery teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements, guide process improvement, and ensure data-driven initiatives deliver measurable business impact. You will leverage business acumen and modern tools to synthesize information, identify patterns, and translate complex business and technical challenges into recommendations.

This role is not open to sponsorship at this time

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders to uncover business challenges, opportunities, decisions, and data needs.
  • Lead workshops and working sessions to gather and refine requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and reporting requirements that support solution design.
  • Act as the “bridge” between business leaders and technical teams ensuring alignment on objectives, timelines, and priorities.
  • Support technical design and data modeling sessions by ensuring business context, process requirements, and user needs are represented in solution decisions.
  • Partner with data modelers and engineers to analyze source systems, validate data definitions, document transformation requirements, and ensure source-to-target mappings accurately reflect business rules and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support UAT, testing, and data validation activities using SQL and other tools to verify business requirements, assess data quality, and ensure expected outcomes are achieved.
  • Analyze business processes, source data, and reporting outputs to identify gaps, inconsistencies, quality concerns, or opportunities for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Connect requirements and solutions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Help define KPIs, business processes, and success measures that enable value realization.
  • Support adoption through training, documentation, and stakeholder communications.

Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Business Consultant, or similar role in data, analytics, or business transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of how business processes translate into data and reporting needs (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations).
  • Proven ability to connect business strategy to data and analytics solutions, driving measurable outcomes.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyze source data, validate business requirements, investigate data quality issues, and support testing and solution design.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, GCP) and an understanding of data warehousing, lakehouse concepts, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and BI reporting environments.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills capable of engaging both executive and technical audiences.

What We Promise You:

  • Exciting projects with great clients in varying departments and verticals across the world
  • The ability to work closely with experienced data engineers and quickly grow and expand your skillset
  • The ability to work closely with all sizes of companies, ranging from Fortune 100 to small local businesses
  • A workplace where you are encouraged to challenge the status quo and develop new technologies, methodologies, and processes
  • A diverse team consisting of data gurus, experience seekers, and entrepreneurial minds that are always pushing to be better
