Principal Consultant, GenAI
Lovelytics
Posted 1 day ago
Since 2017, Lovelytics has helped some of the most complex enterprises in Media & Entertainment, Manufacturing, Retail & CPG, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Financial Services actually modernize their data and put AI to work — not in a deck, but in production. We move fast, stay close to the cutting edge, and care more about outcomes than optics.
We're the first consulting firm backed by Databricks Ventures — which tells you something about how seriously we take the technology we build on. Alongside Interlock Equity, that backing has helped us grow from 50 to 500+ people in three years, while keeping the technical depth and low-ego culture that makes the work worth doing.
Lovelytics is seeking a Generative AI Engineer (Senior Consultant) with hands-on experience delivering client-facing projects in the Generative AI domain, particularly on the Databricks platform. As part of our growing AI & GenAI practice, this role offers an exciting opportunity to design and deploy state-of-the-art solutions that combine language models, vector databases, and cutting-edge orchestration frameworks.
We’re looking for a GenAI Engineer who's already taken GenAI from concept to production on Databricks. Joining our GenAI practice means you’ll design and deploy solutions that work in the real world: RAG pipelines, LLM orchestration, vector search, AI agents and the architecture decisions that make all of it scale. This isn't a research role, it's for practitioners who've worked with clients, understood their problem, and built something to solve it. If you're energized by the pace of this space and want to work alongside people who take data and AI seriously, we'd love to talk.
Note: This position is not eligible for work sponsorship at this time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-impact, client-facing engagements independently while overseeing the work of junior consultants/engineers.
- Build and optimize LLM applications, including AI Agents, RAG systems, evaluation pipelines, prompt chaining, and output refinement.
- Design, implement, and deploy GenAI pipelines using tools such as DSPy, MLFlow, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Databricks Mosaic AI.
- Work hands-on with models like OpenAI GPT, LLaMA, Claude, and others—fine-tuning or prompt-tuning as required.
- Ingest and process unstructured and structured data for use in GenAI systems, including document parsing, chunking, vectorization, and retrieval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build custom UI and API integrations and GenAI-powered user experiences.
- Implement enterprise-grade best practices for security, compliance, evaluation, and governance in GenAI projects.
- Develop evaluation frameworks using MLFow, Mosaic AI Eval tools, and standard and custom metrics.
- Support CI/CD and DABs for AI applications and promote code and model artifacts across environments.
- Contribute to internal accelerators and reusable GenAI components as part of our growing framework library.
- Work closely with senior leadership to design architecture and delivery plans tailored to client needs.
Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning or NLP; at least 2 years working with LLMs or Generative AI systems, preferably on Databricks.
- Proficiency with open-source LLM tooling such as Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, or similar orchestration libraries.
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog, MLFlow, Delta Tables, etc.).
- Familiarity with GenAI-specific challenges including hallucination mitigation, grounding techniques, and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience designing and deploying applications with security, compliance, and scalability in mind.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to engage with technical and business stakeholders.
What We Promise You:
- Meaningful, cutting-edge projects in Generative AI with clients across industries—from Fortune 100 firms to disruptive startups.
- Rapid learning and mentorship opportunities with AI/GenAI thought leaders and practitioners.
- A culture of experimentation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Opportunity to be a conference speaker, blogger, writer.
- A diverse, inclusive team and one of the best GenAI teams, where your voice, ideas, and
Lovelytics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
