As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll play a key leadership role in supporting field and office operations by partnering closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent. You’ll take ownership of complex scopes, lead technical coordination, and help guide Project Engineers and interns. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, mentoring others, and taking pride in delivering high-quality work.

You’ll be involved in every phase of the project, from start-up through closeout, with increasing responsibility for systems coordination, cost management, and technical execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and lead technical and administrative project functions from start-up through closeout
  • Manage complex building systems coordination, including submittals, RFIs, clash detection, and design reviews
  • Support bid package development, schedule management, change management, and cost reporting
  • Oversee subcontractor compliance, documentation, and quality control processes
  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents on project planning and execution
  • Maintain strong communication with owners, design teams, and trade partners
  • Lead jobsite engineering activities and participate in project meetings
  • Track budgets, costs, and forecasting to support financial performance
  • Coach, mentor, and support Project Engineers and interns
  • Promote and model strong safety practices and support Absher’s safety culture
  • Ensure project documentation and closeout materials are accurate and complete

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of relevant construction experience
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software platforms
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and submittals
  • Experience coordinating complex building systems
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through
  • Dependable, professional, and comfortable handling confidential information

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work is primarily based in a jobsite trailer with frequent visits to active construction areas. The role requires regular movement throughout the site, use of standard PPE, and the ability to work in varying weather and site conditions. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds is required, with heavier lifting supported as needed.

Absher is a Federal Contractor. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Salary offers are typically made between the entry and midpoint of the range and are based on factors such as experience, education, and internal equity.

$100,000$130,000 USD
