Celebrating 85 Years of Building With Purpose

At Absher Construction, we’re proud to celebrate over 85 years as one of the Pacific Northwest’s most respected general contractors. As a 100% employee-owned company, we believe our people are our greatest asset and we invest in them like it! From fully paid medical premiums for employees, to a generous PTO policy, 401(k) and ESOP retirement benefits, we offer a total rewards package that reflects the pride and ownership we bring to every project.

As a VDC Engineer, you’ll support Absher’s project teams by applying Virtual Design & Construction practices to improve planning, coordination, and project delivery. You’ll work closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and trade partners to develop and manage construction models, facilitate trade coordination, and help resolve issues before they impact the field.

This role plays an important part in bridging design intent and field execution by using model-based workflows to support coordination, sequencing, and constructability across projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and manage construction models to support coordination, constructability review, and project planning
  • Lead and facilitate trade coordination meetings using model-based workflows
  • Perform clash detection and track resolution of coordination issues across disciplines
  • Work with project teams to ensure models reflect construction sequencing and field conditions
  • Support preconstruction planning, scope clarification, and operations strategy through modeling tools
  • Assist with 4D visual scheduling and model-based planning when applicable
  • Provide VDC support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain and organize project coordination models and documentation
  • Continuously improve VDC processes and workflows through ongoing learning and collaboration

Why You’ll Be Successful

You’re a strong problem solver who enjoys working with both technology and construction teams. You communicate clearly, think spatially, and take pride in helping project teams identify and resolve coordination challenges before they impact the field.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience using Autodesk software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
  • Understanding of construction systems and coordination between structural, architectural, and MEPF trades
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordination workflows simultaneously
  • Interest in advancing VDC tools, workflows, and construction technology
