About the Team & Opportunity

Clever is seeking a mission-driven Senior Product Manager to own the student and teacher experience across our platform—the digital gateway used every day by millions of learners and educators daily. This team is responsible for our most visible products, anchored by the Clever Portal—the daily starting point for students and teachers to access their learning resources—as well as future explorations of how Clever can extend resource access beyond our core products.

We are hiring because Clever is at a pivotal moment. As AI reshapes how students and teachers interact with edtech and as cybersecurity threats targeting student and educator identities grow more sophisticated - we need a product leader who can help us rethink how our users safely access the tools they rely on. In this role, you will shape the future of the classroom experience while ensuring Clever remains the most trusted and secure gateway to digital learning.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • The problem you’ll solve: You will define how Clever protects and empowers student and teacher identities in an era of AI-driven cyber threats—designing experiences that are not only intuitive and engaging, but secure by design. The challenge is making safety invisible to the user while making it ironclad underneath.
  • Who you’ll partner with: You will work across a holistic set of partners: teachers and students who use our products daily, district and school leaders who depend on our reliability, and the app partners whose tools students access through Clever. Internally, you will lead a cross-functional pod of engineers and designers to bring your vision to life.
  • What success looks like: Success is a reimagined student and teacher experience—one that is safer, smarter, and more intuitive than anything in the market today. You will have redefined how millions of users interact with Clever, introduced a coherent AI strategy for the classroom experience, and made Clever’s identity and access model a competitive advantage rather than a background function.
  • Key projects you’ll lead:
    • Define the long-term vision for how students and teachers discover, access, and engage with edtech apps through the Clever Portal and beyond
    • Rethink identity and access experiences in the age of AI—designing for security without sacrificing simplicity
    • Develop and drive Clever’s AI product strategy for the classroom experience, from near-term features to longer-horizon exploration

What We’re Looking For

Required Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)

  • Senior Leadership: 6+ years of product management experience, including a minimum of 2 years as a Senior Product Manager or equivalent leadership role.
  • Cybersecurity & Identity Fluency: Demonstrated understanding of identity and access management, authentication, or cybersecurity concepts as they apply to product design. You don’t need to be a security engineer, but you know how to build secure experiences and partner credibly with security stakeholders.
  • Experience Design Focus: Proven experience building consumer-grade or user-facing products with high standards for UX, engagement, and accessibility—you deeply understand what it means to design for real people under real conditions.
  • Strategic Mastery: A track record of successfully leading, communicating, and defining strategy for a business-critical product area.
  • Analytical Rigor: The ability to move fluently between qualitative user feedback and quantitative performance data to make objective, impactful product decisions.
  • Customer & Partner Focus: Demonstrated success in engaging with high-level stakeholders and technical partners to deliver premium experiences that solve deep-seated pain points.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, with a talent for articulating a vision that inspires internal teams and builds confidence with external partners.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

  • AI Strategy & Vision: Experience developing or contributing to an AI product strategy—whether defining how AI improves user experience, navigating the risks of AI integration, or building AI-powered features in a consumer context.
  • Global Experience: Experience navigating international data regulations or scaling products for diverse regional markets.
  • EdTech Mission: A genuine interest in the K-12 ecosystem and a commitment to creating more equitable learning outcomes through technology.
  • Process Excellence: Experience maintaining high standards of quality assurance and performance in a mission-critical environment.
  • Experience with building AI products
