The AV Installation Technician is responsible for the installation of commercial and residential audiovisual, security and other ip/network-based systems.
- Operate projecting equipment used for displaying multi-media in small conference rooms, auditoriums and/or lecture halls.
- Connects low voltage wiring.
- Terminates and repairs cables.
- Installs wall plates, wall boxes and terminal boards.
- Troubleshoots faulty equipment or systems to working condition.
- Makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment and notifies appropriate personnel when correction of major malfunction is required.
- Positions, installs and connects equipment such as security cameras, projectors, microphones, amplifiers and lighting controls.
- Measures distances accurately to lay out work according to design.
- Drills holes and bolts metal framework and supports in place.
- Cuts, drills and fits brackets, supports, covers and fixtures from metal sheet, strap or bar stock.
- Bolts and screws control panels and assembled operating units to framework.
- Pulls wiring through conduit.
- Communicate all project variances with the AV Installation Manager

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have current driver's license with good driving history (no more than 2 minor violations and/or 1 major violation within the previous 12 months).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Understanding of computers and how they integrate with AV and security system technologies (required).
- Must be willing to drive company vehicles to various client sites on a daily basis. While many projects are local (within 60-mile radius), there will be projects that are beyond 60 miles from Green Bay so overnight travel is required for this position in order to meet specific client deadlines.
