Reporting to the Associate Dean, Operations, This position provides advanced operational planning, analytical, and advisory support related to academic scheduling, workload modeling and resource forecasting. The role leads analytical initiatives that inform academic and operational decisions, including centralized academic loading, forecasting of instructional demand, and the development of digital and AI‑enabled tools to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.
The Business Operations Analyst exercises independent professional judgment, influences planning decisions, and partners closely with Academic Chairs, Associate Deans, and institutional stakeholders to support evidence‑based decision‑making. The position also plays a leadership role in advancing best practices across the academic portfolio through communities of practice and cross‑school collaboration.
Academic Planning, Forecasting, Analytics, and Reporting (55%)
- Lead academic workload modeling, including centralized academic loading for SADT programs.
- Lead project‑based work associated with the design, development, and implementation of a loading AI Agent to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
- Exercise professional judgment in forecasting class sizes, cohort numbers, instructional hours, and resource requirements based on enrolment trends, capacity constraints, and program delivery models.
- Analyze enrolment data, scheduling scenarios, and utilization trends to identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
- Design, develop, and maintain analytical reports, dashboards, and data summaries that support academic and operational decision‑making.
- Provide data‑informed advice and recommendations to Academic Chairs and Associate Deans to support planning, scheduling, and resourcing decisions.
- Contribute to multi‑year academic and program planning through trend analysis and scenario modeling.
- Support instructional budget planning related to academic loading, instructional hours, and digital resource requirements.
- Prepare analytical summaries, reports, and informed recommendations to support leadership discussions and planning decisions.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities and support alignment between academic plans and available resources.
- Lead and co‑lead process mapping initiatives to document and evaluate academic and operational workflows.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in planning, scheduling, and reporting processes.
- Develop recommendations for system, process, and workflow improvements with school‑level and institutional impact.
- Collaborate with internal partners on the piloting and implementation of new operational processes and tools.
- Prepare and present analysis, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Lead and facilitate communities of practice within the academic portfolio focused on best practices in academic planning, scheduling, and operational analytics.
- Share insights, methodologies, and lessons learned across schools to promote consistency, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a key liaison with institutional partners and other schools to align planning activities with SAIT‑wide frameworks and priorities.
