Position Overview

GTI Energy is seeking a Test Technician to support testing, validation, troubleshooting, and quality verification of complex industrial manufacturing systems and products. This role is responsible for executing test procedures, troubleshooting failures, maintaining test equipment, and supporting product reliability throughout production and integration processes.

The ideal candidate has experience testing electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems in a manufacturing environment and can work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support high-quality product delivery.

### Key Responsibilities

Product Testing & Validation

• Perform functional, environmental, and performance testing on mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems

• Execute testing procedures in accordance with engineering specifications, work instructions, and quality standards

• Validate system functionality, electrical performance, and operational reliability prior to shipment

• Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), commissioning, and validation activities as required

 

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

• Troubleshoot test failures, electrical faults, mechanical issues, and system malfunctions

• Perform root cause analysis and support corrective action implementation

• Work closely with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve product or process issues

• Identify recurring defects and recommend process improvements

 

Test Equipment & Technical Support

• Set up, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment and instrumentation

• Operate equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, and diagnostic tools

• Ensure test stations and equipment remain organized, functional, and properly maintained

• Support development and improvement of testing processes and procedures

 

Documentation & Quality Compliance

• Document test procedures, test results, inspections, and non-conformance reports

• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications

• Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO procedures, and safety requirements

• Maintain accurate testing records and production documentation

 

Production Support & Continuous Improvement

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and prototype validation activities

• Assist with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Train and support production personnel as needed

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency

### Requirements

• High school diploma or Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field

• 2–5+ years of hands-on experience in a Test Technician or similar manufacturing role

• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documents

• Experience using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems

• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and basic computer applications including Excel and data logging software

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and lift up to 40 pounds

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related technical field

• Experience in modular manufacturing, power systems, industrial equipment, aerospace, automotive, or semiconductor industries

• Knowledge of PLCs, automated test systems, or LabVIEW

• IPC certifications or similar technical credentials

• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training

• Experience working in ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments
