 About the role:   
 
Reporting to the Water Compliance Lead, the Environment Coordinator, Water Compliance is responsible for the ongoing management of and compliance to regional and local permits. The position requires a broad base of scientific knowledge, technical skills, project and contractor management experience. 
 
 To be successful we are looking for someone that demonstrates strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making abilities. We require someone who can adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment and has the skills for critical thinking. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to find solutions in a proactive manner is vital for success. 
 
 In this role you will have the opportunity to work on site at our Greenhills Operation. Time will be split between the office and field while working a compressed work week. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with departments across the site, as well as our centralized and dispersed Environment teams.

  • ### In this role you will:
    • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies  

    • Coordinate and provide technical direction and field support for multiple, broad based sampling and monitoring programs, and emerging environmental issues

    • Coordinate quality control protocols for testing materials in compliance with environmental procedures 

    • Work closely with the team of environmental technicians to provide support and coordination of the water compliance program 

    • Supervise and manage multiple contractors to ensure work is being conducted safely and in accordance with the scope of work

    • Communicate and manage data in a clear and understandable format suitable for intended audiences to advise mine operations, permitting, and water management to gain resolution of any issues or challenges

    • Understand applicable permits, management plans, and associated requirements

    • Coordinate and supervise various environmental projects such as design and maintenance of water infrastructure, and field sampling programs 

    • Analyze field and analytical data to prepare various professional reports and applications for submission internally and to government agencies 

    • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reporting

    ### Requirements:
    • Degree or diploma in engineering, environmental science, or other related subject area 

    • Minimum three years demonstrated ability in the field of environmental compliance or monitoring, in an industrial environment 
    • Previous experience in the field of environmental compliance or monitoring, in an industrial environment

    • Proficient in environmental data management, analysis, reporting, and environmental databases, particularly EQuIS and Microsoft Office Suite®

    • Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices 

    • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
