Concrete Finisher/ Formsetter

Position Overview

The Concrete Finisher / Form Setter is responsible for the assembly and installation of formwork for concrete structures, as well as the finishing of surfaces to comply with project specifications. This position ensures that concrete is accurately placed, finished, and cured in accordance with established quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, align, and secure forms for foundations, footings, walls, slabs, curbs, and other structures

• Verify forms are level, plumb, square, and adequately braced

• Prepare job sites through grading, leveling, and surface compaction

• Assist in the pouring and placement of concrete to precise measurements

• Perform surface finishing by smoothing, troweling, edging, and applying appropriate textures

• Cut expansion joints and monitor proper curing processes

• Strip, clean, and maintain forms and all relevant tools

• Read and interpret blueprints and site plans accurately

• Adhere to all safety protocols and collaborate effectively with team members

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred

• Two to four years of experience in concrete finishing or form setting

• Proficiency in reading construction plans and measurements

• Experience utilizing construction tools and equipment

• Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work collaboratively

Work Environment & Schedule

• Work is conducted outdoors under varying conditions, including extreme heat

• Physically demanding tasks requiring lifting, bending, and prolonged standing

• Overtime may be required based on project demands

• Weekend work may be necessary as project needs arise

• Travel is required, including out-of-town assignments and overnight stays

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must possess a valid, clean driver’s license
  • Able to work outdoors with the AZ heat
  • Traveling is require up to 80% with in AZ / Including weekends
  • Clean driver’s license (3–5 years, no violations)
