Company Description

We’re Checkout.com. You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions daily for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.

We are seeking a proactive and established Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our truly global Talent Acquisition team. Based in our Shanghai office, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s expansion across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. You will be the strategic lead for attracting and identifying top-tier talent for our Corporate (Operations, Finance, People) and Commercial functions across our key regional hubs.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will not only execute sourcing plans for Mainland China but also lead stakeholder engagement and build scalable hiring solutions for markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Australia. You will be instrumental in harmonising local market nuances with our global talent strategy, ensuring we remain competitive in the fast-evolving APAC FinTech landscape.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Regional Sourcing Strategy: Craft and implement innovative hiring strategies tailored to the unique talent ecosystems of APAC, utilizing a mix of global tools (LinkedIn) and local powerhouses (e.g., Seek for AU/NZ, JobStreet for SE Asia, and Liepin/Maimai for China).

  • Cross-Border Collaboration: Manage relationships with international business partners and candidates, ensuring a seamless experience that accounts for different time zones and cultural expectations.

  • Global Impact Projects: Lead or participate in global TA initiatives, ensuring that "one-size-fits-all" projects are localized effectively for the diverse APAC markets.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive talent mapping and salary benchmarking for evergreen skill sets across the region, providing data-backed insights to senior leadership.

  • DEIB & Fair Hiring: Partner with regional teams on DEIB initiatives, ensuring compliance with local fair-hiring frameworks (such as the Fair Consideration Framework in Singapore).

  • Operational Excellence: Optimise our ATS (Greenhouse/Workday) for regional reporting—tracking metrics like quality-of-hire and time-to-fill across different jurisdictions.

  • Multi-Jurisdictional Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of local labor laws and regulatory requirements across APAC to ensure compliant hiring and offer management.

What We’re Looking For

  • APAC Market Expertise: Proven experience in full-cycle recruitment across multiple APAC jurisdictions, with a deep understanding of the FinTech or high-growth tech sectors.

  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across the region, influencing hiring decisions through data storytelling and market insights.

  • Data Literacy: Passionate about using recruitment analytics to iterate on sourcing strategies and improve hiring outcomes.

  • Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in Mandarin and English is required to bridge our Shanghai hub with our global headquarters and regional offices.
