Community Occupational Therapist – Canberra

Are you an Occupational Therapist who's tired of unrealistic KPIs and cookie-cutter caseloads? At Renew Living, we do things differently.

We're a community-based allied health provider with a simple philosophy: find the right people, then shape the work around them. Whether you prefer NDIS, DVA, or Home Care clients — or a mix of all three — we'll tailor your caseload to match your interests and strengths. No one-size-fits-all here.

Here's something that sets us apart: our billable target is just 5 hours per day. As far as we can tell, that's the lowest in the industry. It's not a gimmick — it reflects our genuine commitment to sustainable workloads and clinician wellbeing. We want you to do your best work without burning out.

You'll deliver quality occupational therapy services across community settings, supporting clients to maintain and improve their functional ability, independence, and quality of life. You'll work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, with direct access to a Clinical Lead for day-to-day clinical mentoring and an OT Team Leader for operational support.

We offer flexibility in how and where you work — including face-to-face visits, telehealth, home visiting, and kindy-based sessions. We're also flexible on employment structure: join us as an employee or a contractor — we'll make it work for you.

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • 2–4 years of clinical experience, ideally in community, NDIS, aged care, or home care settings
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • A valid Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effective therapeutic relationships
  • Confidence working autonomously in community settings while collaborating as part of a broader team
  • An evidence-based approach to clinical practice and a commitment to continuous professional development

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Experience across multiple funding streams (NDIS, DVA, Home Care Packages)
  • Experience with home modifications, assistive technology, or equipment prescription
  • Experience mentoring students or less experienced clinicians

Benefits

The package:

  • Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per annum (for employees), or competitive rates for contractors

  • Revenue bonus program: Earn 10% of all revenue generated above your target
  • Caseload flexibility: Choose your preferred mix of NDIS, DVA, and Home Care clients — we shape the work around you
  • Employment flexibility: Employee or contractor — your choice
  • Clinical support: Dedicated Clinical Lead for mentoring plus regular supervision from the OT Team Leader
  • Service delivery options: Face-to-face, telehealth, home visiting, and kindy-based sessions
  • Professional development: Ongoing learning opportunities and clinical practice development within a supportive team environment
  • Sustainable workload: We're genuinely focused on OT wellbeing — not just saying it
