Credit Controller - Renewable Energy

Smart Energy is one of Australia’s fastest-growing clean-tech and home-electrification companies - helping Aussie households transition to smarter, cleaner, more sustainable energy solutions ⚡
As we continue to scale nationally, we’re looking for a commercially minded Credit Controller to strengthen our rebate recovery, optimise collections, and bring sharper visibility to our receivables performance.
🚀 The Opportunity
This isn’t your standard collections role.
You’ll sit at the centre of Finance, Rebate Operations, and Sales, owning the end-to-end rebate lifecycle - from recovery and analysis through to process improvement and reporting.

📈 Growth - Work in a fast-scaling business where things are evolving quickly
🧠 Problem Solving - Real ownership to fix processes, not just follow them
🤝 Cross-Functional - Work across Finance, Sales, Ops & external partners
Rebate Collections & Recovery

- Run structured, data-led follow-ups (calls + comms)
- Work closely with installers, Formbay & internal teams to unblock claims

- Monitor rebate ageing, trends, disputes & risk
- Deliver clear, actionable reporting to leadership
- Map and improve the full rebate lifecycle
- Identify leakage, bottlenecks & data issues
- Drive better systems, controls & automation
- Reconcile claims, track disputes & resolve aged items
- Investigate root causes impacting recovery
- Keep everything audit-ready and aligned to policy
- Ensure strong documentation, controls & data integrity

- 2–4 years in AR, credit control, or rebate collections
- Strong analytical skills —- you know how to read ageing & spot trends
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets (reporting, analysis, insights)
- High attention to detail across reconciliations & data
- Confident communicator - can manage installers + stakeholders
- Experience with Xero, Salesforce, Airtable, Formbay (highly regarded)
- Bonus if you’ve worked with rebates, compliance-based claims, or government programs

Smart Energy isn’t your typical workplace - we’re a high-growth, high-performance business leading the shift toward full home electrification across Australia.
